12th grade math word problems are nothing but the word problems under the grade 12. The word problems will be in a paragraph or a sentence format. By reading it and understanding we have to make the problem and solve and obtain the answer. 12th grade math word problems will be easier to solve by understanding the given question. The word problems may be under any chapters of grade 12. Below are some of the example and exercise problems of 12th grade math word problems.
Example of 12th Grade Math Word Problems
1.     The perimeter of a right angle triangle is 60 cm. The area of the same triangle is 150 square cm. Find the three sides of the right angle triangle?
Solution
Let the three sides be a, b, c where a, b be two legs and c be hypotenuse.
Perimeter (a+b+c) = 60-------1
Area `1/2` (a x b) = 150----------2
By using the Pythagoras theorem a^2 + b^2 = c^2-------3
(a+b)^2-2ab = c^2---------4
a + b = 60 – c--------5
a x b = 2 x 150
a x b = 300-------6
Substitute 5 and 6 in 4
(60-c)^2-2 (300) = c^2
602-2x60xc+ c^2 – 600 = c^2
3600-600-120c = 0
3000 = 120c
C= 25
a + b = 60 – 25
= 35
a = 35 – b
(35-b x b) = 300
35b – b^2 = 300
b^2 – 35b +300 =0
b^2-15b-20b+300 = 0
b(b-15)+ 20 (b-15)
b=20 and a=15
So a=15, b=20 c =2512th Grade Math Word Problems
